The Z8 is one of the most fascinating vehicles BMW built in it's 90 year history. Its inspiration, and its forefather is the beautiful BMW 507 which was designed by Count Albrecht Graf Goertz and built between 1955-58. The Z8 revived the concept of an aluminum bodied sportster with classic proportions, but it was made using the most modern innovative construction techniques to create BMW's first all aluminum car. The all aluminum structure was wrapped around BMW's most potent engine, the M Division's S62, a 400HP V8.

BMW built 5,703 Z8's between 2000 and 2003. These included 3,160 built to EU specifications, and 2,543 built to meet the Federal standards of the USA. The total includes the 555 Alpina Roadsters which were built in 2002 and 2003, 105 for the EU, and 450 for the USA.

In 2003 "Motor Classic" magazine selected the Z8 to be the "Classic of the Future" in the roadster category by a wide margin. The future is now, as today the Z8 has developed a passionate worldwide following, with prices for the car already climbing in the EU, and firming up well in the US.

In the year of the 50th birthday of the BMW 507, the dream of realizing the worldwide Z8 Club became a reality at the place of birth of all the Z8's. The Z8 Club was formed at BMW's headquarters in Munich on June 11th 2005.

The club was formed to be a worldwide platform for Z8 owner's and their partners to share their enthusiasm for one of the most beautiful cars ever made. The club will offer regular drives to fascinating destinations across Europe, which members from the USA are welcome to join in with, even if they don't bring their car over. In the US there will be also be events staged in the future.

The Club will be the source for all technical knowledge and exchange of know-how for and about the Z8. It will also represent the united voice of all Z8 owners at BMW in Munich, which is one of the most compelling reasons to support the club in its long term goals.

We would like to invite and encourage every Z8 owner to join the club, and share in our enthusiasm and enjoyment of this unique automobile.

The Board of Directors of the BMW Z8 Club e.V.
