The Fascinating Z8
The BMW Z8 roadster is without doubt one of the most incredible vehicles BMW has built in its long history. The worldwide fascination for the Z8 is closely related with the legendary BMW 507 from 1955. The BMW Z8 is a modern interpretation of this classic – breathtakingly beautiful, traditional in its proportions, and equipped with innovative technologies and a suitably high-performance engine.
BMW released 5,703 Z8s, including 555 Alpina Z8s, between 1999 and July 2003 from its “Manufaktur” in Munich. In 2003 Motor Classic magazine declared the Z8 to be the “Classic of the Future” in the roadster category by a wide margin. Today, this “future” is the present, for the BMW Z8 has developed into a coveted collector’s item with a high level of value retention.
In the year of the 50th anniversary of the BMW 507, on June 11, 2005, the dream of founding the only international BMW Z8 Club became a reality at the place of birth of all the Z8s. The seat of our Club is Munich, and we are a BMW-authorized Club with more than 650 members from around 20 countries. The BMW Z8 Club e.V. is a member of the International BMW Classic and Type Clubs Section of the International Council of BMW Clubs.
We offer all owners of a BMW Z8 and their partners a platform where they can share their enthusiasm for this vehicle with like-minded people. We organize communal trips along the world’s most beautiful roads and facilitate the exchange of stories and experiences regarding the Z8. Our Club however also has the goal of collating all technical knowledge and all experiences concerning the vehicle in order to ensure its continued existence.
We wish to invite all owners and drivers of a BMW Z8 to get in touch with us and all the other Club members in order to share suggestions, ideas, and criticisms.
